About My Work

Effective psychotherapy takes commitment; it takes work – although it might be a different kind of “work” from what you’re used to. It can be gentle or intense, comforting or challenging. It asks you to become fully present to yourself and your process during your session, and to put your discoveries into practice between sessions.

My first priority with you will be to see if we can establish a meaningful connection. I want us to get to where you feel safe enough to let the truly difficult, vulnerable stuff come up, knowing you won’t be judged when it does. We might get there quickly, or it could take a while. We go at the tempo that’s right for you.

I love to work deeply and authentically, with people who are motivated for change in their lives. I listen beyond what’s spoken for what’s really underneath. I’m not a one-size-fits-all therapist, and that’s where the range of my life experience can be a valuable resource. Together, we’ll find the tools, the process, and the timing, that are right for you.

I’m a process-oriented counselor and I believe in the healing power of a strong therapeutic relationship. My approach is most closely aligned with Transpersonal and Humanistic schools of thought, integrating practices similar to ACT, CBT, Gestalt and others. I support people with life transitions, grief and loss, relationships, childhood trauma, lack of confidence, feeling unworthy, questioning identity, and many other issues. If what you’re reading here resonates with you, I hope you’ll get in touch.

Whenever we tend to a single strand, we are participating in the care of the whole.
